We Will Rise – T-shirt 

This design is undoubtedly inspired by my complete adoration of Sinead O’Connor. but these lyrics from that lesbian anthem, Troy, I can see the lesbians dancing and singing hard to these words, ‘we will rise, we will return’, almost as if there truly was a shared memory or consciousness. 

Sinead was my second celebrity crush, Audrey Hepburn being the first. I was lucky enough to see her live 4 times, over at least two decades. The last time I saw her in Manchester, she looked unwell and was clearly carrying trauma. I think that rawness she had was what attracted me to her. She was unrepentant in her expression of the pain that she held. 

I heard rumour that Sinead finally came out before she died, and I hope that is true. 

Like Sinead, we, as lesbians, must once more rise up from the ashes and make sure that there truly is no other Troy for them to burn.
